Black Student Success: Creating A Safe, Creative, and Inclusive Learning Environment Online and Offline

Many of our Black students are 1st generation college students like myself. Many of our Black students usually experience imposter syndrome when they get to college because many don't feel like they belong or can achieve the unthinkable. As Educators, whether at a PWI or HBCU, asynchronous or synchronous classes, we have to create a safe, welcoming, nurturing, inclusive, and creative learning environment to help our students thrive. Many of our students deal with systemic racism, become breadwinners and caregivers, and are saddled with other issues early. Our classroom might be the only place where they are seen, heard, or valued.
