Sometimes, we miss God’s wink and the majesty of His creativity because we are too busy looking down at our phones. During my stay in Havana, I made a conscious decision not to buy an internet card or go to the internet park just to stay connected to everything happening on social media. I decided to unplug. To disconnect. To actually be where my feet were. And I’m thankful I did. Because if I had been staring down at my phone, worried about what everyone else was doing, posting or talking about back home, I might have missed what was happening right above me. A rainbow stretched across the Havana sky. I stood on the rooftop of my apartment in La Habana Vieja and watched God show off. No notification could have competed with that. Sometimes, the most beautiful moments aren't asking to be posted immediately. They are asking us to be present enough to witness them first. That day, I was. And thankfully, I had my camera. From My Lens.
